Guy Fawkes may have foolishly plotted to blow up the houses of Parliament along with other conspirators on the 5th November 1605, but the foiling of this gunpowder plot brought about (bonfire night) which is still an annual event in our calendars, so we do have something to thank Guy Fawkes for at least.
