The 1st September 2008 was a significant day for Gala Bingo and their bingo players as not only was it the day they no longer run the renowned national bingo game at their land based bingo clubs, their revolutionary high 5 bingo game launched and according to Gala Bingo their bingo players will now have an improved bingo experience and more chances to win when they play bingo with them!

There has been much speculation and talk around Gala Bingo withdrawing from the national bingo game on 31st August, but the fruit will be in the pudding so to speak as to whether this was the right move to make. Gala Bingo wanted to show case their new high 5 jackpot bingo game and to do this they set aside £210,000 for a 14 day nonstop free draw of £5,000 for every afternoon session and £10,000 for every evening session, so in total their players could have took part in 28 sessions of bingo where as many as 5,000 bingo players could have picked up free cash prizes, simply from being in their bingo clubs. This event started on 1st September and it will run through until 14th September.

Before Gala Bingo pulled out of the national bingo game, they said that extensive customer research was undertaken and that the high 5 bingo game ticked all the right boxes for an enhanced bingo experience. The high 5 bingo game has been running for some time now in their bingo clubs, it was only on the 1st of September that we see the enhanced version of this bingo game being introduced and the largest high 5 bingo win to date was back in November 2007 when Margaret Venables from the Fenton Gala Bingo club won £874,208.62. The lady kept half these winnings and the remainder was distributed between the other club members, which gave them all £1,184 each.

The high 5 jackpot game is all about winning the house prize on the number (5) and any player that calls up on this number will win half the jackpot prize shown and all the players that were playing in the same bingo club as them as the time will have the other half of the jackpot prize shared equally between them. This bingo game does come with another added twist because if you win on the house in any number ending in 5 for example (35 or 65) 10% of the jackpot prize is awarded to you and the rest of the cash stays in the pot and rolls over to the next game.
