After only a year playing bingo at her local Gala Bingo Club in Pontefract Road, one very lucky 19 year old called Lisa Mitchell won £238,000 on the Platinum playoff bingo game that is brought to land based players by the National Bingo Game.
As soon as Lisa became of legal age to play bingo, which is (18) years old in the UK, she started going to the Gala Bingo Club in Barnsley with her boyfriend’s Mother “Lesley Loring” and his sister Gemma, they made a pact from the start that any winnings they may have between them, they would share three ways and Lisa will be sticking to her side of the agreement and sharing her massive Jackpot win with both of these lucky ladies.
The previous biggest win the three of them had won before this jackpot bingo win was £1,300 when they had 3 good bingo wins in the same weekend. Winning the National Bingo Platinum Jackpot will bring a huge difference not just to Lisa’s life but to Lesley’s and Gemma’s too.
Lisa works as a sales consultant and she is now planning to buy herself a house after her massive bingo win and this is what she had to say in her own words - “They started me off playing bingo at Gala Bingo in Barnsley a year ago, as soon as I was old enough legally,” Meaning Lesley and Gemma, she said. “We play regularly at least once a week and always share whatever any of us wins. Our previous best was £1,300 in three wins one weekend. I just ran out screaming when I realised how much I had won and rang everyone I could think of. They were all gob-smacked after they realised I was not kidding. When we got home we just sat in shock, no-one knew what to say. I got to bed at 2am and was up again at 6.30. Gemma and I celebrated the next morning with a breakfast at McDonalds. There is so much we can all do now that we have this money. We were limited before but now we can buy a house and do it up how we want and still be able to have holidays."
This is how Lisa’s bingo win was made up, because when you win the National Bingo Platinum Jackpot game it is not just this massive jackpot that comes your way – Lisa won The National Platinum Jackpot of £222,626, plus The National Game Prize of £13,980, Regional Prize of £1,109, plus the normal house prize of £394, which gave Lisa total winnings of £238,519!
Mandy Rylance who is the assistant Manager at Gala Bingo said, “The atmosphere in the Pontefract Road Club on Sunday night when the massive win was announced was amazing. My eardrums feel like they are perforated from all the screaming and cheering that went on. Everyone was absolutely delighted for them. They are such nice customers. To win almost a quarter of a million pounds must feel marvellous. All three of them were completely overwhelmed."
Lesley is planning to build a new conservatory with her share of the winnings and Gemma who is 23 and lives with her partner and 5 year old son, plan to renovate their house with their share of this great bingo win.
