Lilly English has now been playing bingo for more than 40 years at her local Mecca Bingo club in Andover, she joined Mecca Bingo on Junction Road, in 1967 and she has never looked back! Lilly is now 93 years old and it has been said that she is the perfect bingo player and you will still find her playing her favourite game at least six times every week! |

The long awaited announcement by the Bingo industry was finally made on Wednesday by Governments sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe. He issued a press release stating that the Government would now increase the number of £500 jackpot slot machines bingo halls were allowed to house on their premises, from four to eight. This was much welcomed news for bingo club owners throughout the country, but you still have to ask yourself the question, is it enough to help the ailing bingo industry as a whole?! |

The Bingo industry are now sitting with baited breath after a government source leaked that an announcement is due to be made today, Wednesday 25th July, regarding how many £500 jackpot machines a bingo hall is allowed to hold. Way back in March, sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe, said that an announcement would be made shortly with regards to possible measures to help the failing bingo industry, and since then we have seen even more land based bingo halls close their doors for the last time. |

The national bingo game have took the decision to suspend the national bingo caller of the year 2008 competition, citing the difficulties that the bingo industry are facing at the moment, behind their decision to put a halt to this year’s event. This move is unprecedented since this sought after bingo caller of the year title began back in 1994 by the bingo association, and was subsequently taken over by the national bingo game itself in 1999. |
