The Judges Bingo hall in a town called Tonypandy in Wales was originally named 'The Judge Williams Memorial Hall' when it was first built back in 1909, will be celebrating its 100th year in July 2009 and they are already busy behind the scenes to make sure this milestone goes off with a big bingo bang! The building was officially opened by Princess Louise and The Duke of Argyll and it was a gift to the residents of the area by Lieutenant Colonel Sir Rhys Williams. |

In the 60’s we see lots of disused theatres and cinemas become bingo halls throughout the UK as the introduction of television in our homes made these building become somewhat redundant and this was also the time when the land based version of the bingo game as we know it took off in a huge way. How times have changed, as it seems like there is a bit of a reversal is going on at the moment as we have just seen a former bingo hall in Edinburgh being turned into a church and rock gospel venue that also comes equipped with large screens and cinema seating. |

Mecca Bingo has proved to be a very lucky bingo club to play bingo in for a 61 year old lady from Norwich after she scooped over £34,000 on the national bingo game and she is also sticking to an agreement made with her friend whom she plays bingo with to share her great bingo windfall. What is even more incredible about this big bingo win is that the lady in question only plays bingo at her local Mecca Bingo hall in Aylsham Road, Norwich just three or four times a year. |
