Coatbridge, near Glasgow is fast becoming the place to play bingo after we have seen two huge national bingo game platinum jackpot winners come out of here this year alone. Lucky bingo player Soraya Lowell broke the world record for the biggest bingo win on 23rd March this year as she scooped just under a spectacular £1.2 million pounds on the platinum jackpot prize and we have just seen another Coatbridge bingo player win just over a £168,000!
Soraya Lowell won her huge cash prize whilst playing at the Club 3000 bingo hall in Coatbridge and this latest local winner was playing bingo at Gala Bingo at the Faraday Retail Park, Coatbridge. The 62 year old lady asked not to be named, but she did have this to say to the national gaming body. “I am still not over the shock yet,” she said. “But I am delighted, over the moon. I have been playing bingo since I was old enough and started going with my Mum. I have always played at the same Club, it was the County then. It was really strange. The date was the 27th of the 7th and the last two numbers I needed for the full house were 7 and 27,” she added.
That is two massive platinum jackpot wins from the same area, so you could say that Coatbridge is a very lucky place to play bingo indeed! The lady called house in 43 numbers to win this great cash prize and her bingo winnings were made up as follows. First she won the afternoon platinum jackpot prize of £160,250, plus the regional prize of £6,880, the zone prize of £1,064 and the in house prize at Gala Bingo of £65, which give her total winnings of £168,844 for an afternoon at her local bingo hall. The lucky lady is married with three daughters and six grandchildren, who she said will be treated from her bingo winnings.
When the platinum jackpot was attached to the national bingo game, it was done so in a way to ensure that it is won on a regular basis, therefore creating lots more jackpot bingo winners. The national bingo game is currently played twice a day and the platinum jackpot will be won if the national bingo game winner calls house on the number 90, but it does not matter if this huge jackpot prize is won or not during the month because the last Sunday of any given month is platinum jackpot play off day and whatever the platinum jackpot stands at, it will be won by whatever lucky bingo player wins the national bingo game on the day, no matter what bingo number they call house on as you just need to be the national bingo game winner to take home the platinum jackpot prize!
