Gala Bingo took the decision to ban one of their bingo players from all their land based bingo clubs throughout the UK, after the lady in question reportedly punched their assistant manager in the face after an incident which took place in the Gala Bingo Pollok Club situated in Glasgow. What is quite astounding about this story is that the lady we are talking about is 96 years old, but she is said to still be able to pack quite a punch for a woman of her age.

The drama reportedly unfolded at the Gala Bingo club in Glasgow because the lady see another Gala Bingo Member sitting at the bingo table she usually sits at. According to Deadlines Scotland, it is believed that the OAP in question threatened the member who was sitting in her favourite seat with violence unless she moved and staff had to step in to try and calm the situation down.

The assistant manager of the Gala Bingo Club was called by staff to deal with the growing drama, but instead of calming the OAP down over the seating situation she is thought to have become even more outraged and punched the assistant manager square in the eye.

A spokesperson for Gala Bingo said, “They had taken the decision to ban her from the chain, as it wasn’t the first time she had caused trouble. After lengthy discussions we decided this lady would have to be ejected and prevented from attending any of our bingo halls in the future. This incident was shocking from someone that age. We cannot allow our staff to be verbally or physically abused and we had to take into account that she’s behaved aggressively towards staff and other members in the past.”

This is the second such bingo drama that has led to a ban in all land based bingo clubs in the UK for an OAP over recent weeks. Mecca Bingo also took the decision to ban one of their pensioners after a reported incident that took place where a lady was thought to have been very abusive to their bingo manager after they ask her to stop arranging outings to other bingo clubs in the area.

Lands based bingo clubs, just like online bingo sites have a duty to their staff to make sure they do not have to put up with rude and abusive people. You quite often find that there are two sides to every coin and that certainly seemed to be the case in the Mecca Bingo drama.

Bingo players can be quite possessive about where they sit at bingo clubs, some members try and sit at the same seats or tables week in and week out, but what they should always try to remember is that whilst it can be disappointing to find someone else sitting at their usual bingo bolthole, they do not own that seat or table so it is not worth getting up tight about, especially if it can lead to this kind of incident above.
