Play Gala BingoGala Bingo have joined forces with the pennies from heaven scheme in a bid to try and raise as much cash as they can for the Sue Ryder Care charity. Vital funds are needed for the Sue Ryder Care charity and the pennies from heaven scheme is an innovative coin collection system, which enables people to donate their spare pennies from their income to charity and this is done by rounding off net salaries of the individuals that join in this scheme to the nearest pound and donating them to the charity involved.

The Gala Coral group currently employee around 19,000 people throughout all their divisions including Gala Bingo and they are now giving their employees the chance to join the pennies from heaven scheme and donate their pennies on their payslips to Sue Ryder Care and they can do this by simply filling out the “pennies from heaven authorisation form’s” which they will be able to pick up from their employers.

A penny does not go very far at all nowadays, you are even hard pressed to find penny sweets anymore, but putting them all together like this can sure add up to a tidy sum every month for the charities that will be receiving them and if they are took straight of your wages, I don’t think that most people would miss them very much either.

The maximum donation from any one person of their payslip is set at just 99p and all monies raised from the employees of Gala Bingo will be going directly to Sue Ryder Care and their great charity is all about helping to give support and passionate care for people who are living with illnesses such as Cancer, strokes, Parkinson’s Disease to name just a few.

Dr. Colin Morgan, Group Corporate Responsibility Manager at Gala Coral, said, “It’s a fantastic way to raise much needed money for Sue Ryder Care and it’s as simple as a signature.  We are asking Gala Coral employees if they notice the pennies on their wage slips and would they miss them? And, if the answer is no, then donate them to Sue Ryder Care and let their pennies help the charity make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of people it cares for".

Without the help and support of big organisations such as Gala Bingo and the public, charities like the Sue Ryder Care charity would probably cease to exist and the one saying that always springs to mind when you are talking about things like this, is that “it is better to give than to receive”.

Anthony Law, who is the Managing Director of Pennies from Heaven, said, “We are delighted that Gala Coral staff have been given the opportunity to give their pennies to Sue Ryder Care via this simple scheme.  Whilst as individuals the amounts are small, but if all of Gala Coral’s staff got involved, in excess of £150,000 per year could be raised. Who said that pennies don’t add up!”

This is a another great charity initiative from Gala Bingo and the Gala Coral group and they are already on a huge charity drive for the Sue Ryder Care charity after their employees voted overwhelmingly back in July of this year for them to support this great charity indeed. They have pledged to raise at least one million pounds for Sue Ryder Care over the next 18 months.
