Bingo Trends are Changing

Trends change all of the time, last year’s clothes won’t be this year’s fashion and the bingo world is no different. Over the past few years we have seen a steady decline in the land based version of our bingo game, with an unprecedented amount of bingo clubs closing down, but the growth of online bingo has been astronomical and it just does not seem to be stopping. It is not just women playing online bingo now either as more and more men are sitting down, putting their feet up and playing bingo online.

When online bingo was first introduced in the UK it has been said that it was feared by some of the bosses in the land based bingo industry and with the situation as it stands at the moment, there fears were not unfounded.

There are however a few reasons as to why the land based bingo clubs are fairing so badly at the moment and one of them that jumps right out at you is the grossly unfair double taxation law that is placed up them and while the casino industry and traditional English pubs are not doing to great either, they do not have this absurd law placed upon them, but they do have their own agendas and problems to deal with.

Trends do change all the time and what we liked today we may not like tomorrow and it certainly looks like there is a trend change in the way millions of people are now playing bingo. The accessibility of playing bingo online just cannot be beaten as it can be played 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year without even leaving the comfort of your home and while there are plus and minus for both versions of the game (land based and online bingo) the pluses for online bingo seem too far out way the pluses for land based bingo.

We have seen some of the big giants in the land based bingo world launch their own online bingo sites that have proved to be a great success for them and even some of the smaller land based bingo club have also gone down this route. TV bingo is set to be the next big phenomenon within the bingo industry, but after looking at both these different ways of playing bingo for me online bingo still has the edge!
