The new Platinum Jackpot game from the National Bingo has been at it again, and on Sunday night it has produced another huge bingo winner. A 64 year old lady is now £390,000 richer thanks to this amazing bingo game.
The Lucky Lady comes from Didcot and has been married for over 42 years, she was playing at her local Cornet Bingo Club in the Broadway, when her numbers came up. The Cornet Bingo hall has been in the hands of three generations of the same family and is a real family business. John Carpenter who is the owner of the bingo club, had this to say about this fantastic bingo win at his club - “It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person and there was such an amazing buzz in the club when we announced how much she had won. A customer said to me as she left that it was really nice to have been a part of it. That’s the difference between playing the Lottery or bingo online, rather than in a club."
The lady, who wished for her name to be kept out of the press, first joined the Cornet Bingo Club when it opened its doors back in 1981 and has been a bingo player there ever since, she now plays there a couple of times a week and her husband normally always walks from their home to meet her after her bingo session has finished. Boy was he in for a shock on Sunday night, this is what he had to say - “A passer-by said to me, are you smiling, you will be in a minute,” he said. “John was at the door when I got there and told me I had better come in. What a shock it all was. My wife was shaking like a leaf all that night and we couldn’t sleep at all. We have not come down to earth yet."
This is how the lady’s winners were made up. She won the amazing Platinum Jackpot Prize of £350,104, plus the National Game Prize of £40,000, the Regional Prize of £1,1664 and her clubs House Prize of £100, and this all added up to a massive £391,868! 41 numbers was the call that clinched this amazing win for the shocked lady and she was not the only one to benefit from playing bingo on Sunday night either because the Platinum Jackpot stood at £700,208 that night and another lucky bingo winner from the Beacon Bingo Club, in Criklewood also called up on this great game in 41 numbers, which gave her a share of the Platinum Jackpot Prize.
The 64 year old lady will be celebrating her birthday next month and the happy couple have one son and a grandson. This what the lucky lady herself had to say about her Huge Bingo win - “I have had ill-health and a rough time in the last couple of years but now this has really changed my luck,” she said. Their first thoughts on spending the money are to have a new kitchen, a ‘new set of wheels,’ and replace their garage door.
