The National Bingo game has been supporting breakthrough for breast cancer since 2003. They teamed up with their sister site, the bingo association, where they now hold a week long fundraising event in October each year which they have aptly named the “Bingo for Breakthrough” week.

Over 400 bingo clubs throughout the UK dedicate a whole week at their bingo halls during October to hold fundraising events for this very worthwhile charity indeed. As you would expect all the big names are right behind the NBGA in doing their bit to help out as much as they can and these include, Mecca Bingo, Gala Bingo, Castle Bingo, Buckingham Bingo and Carlton Bingo to name but a few.

The support they give to the bingo association to help this cause is normally in addition to their own chosen charities that they support throughout the year to. Since the national bingo association first struck up this award winning partnership with the breast cancer charity they have gone on to help raise £2.75 million, and last year alone during the bingo breakthrough week they raised a whopping £500,000!

This was an outstanding achievement to make last year giving the difficult times the bingo industry are facing as a whole, but it was with the support of all the bingo clubs and the bingo players that frequent them that made raising the huge cash some possible.

The breakthrough for breast cancers vision is to see a future that will be free from the fear of breast cancer and this is why continued support is needed from businesses and the public throughout the UK and the world come to that. Bingo for breakthrough was set up by the NBGA, has gone on to win the prestigious big tick award in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Some well known celebrities have even joined in the campaign for the past two years, where they doodled things that made them smile using bingo dabbers, which were then auctioned of on the well know action site eBay. This helped raise even more awareness of the bingo breakthrough campaign as well as raising even more funds.
